Pretty Lake Camp

Pretty Lake Camp has been a signature project of the Junior League of Kalamazoo since the 1930s.

Pretty Lake provides a residential summer camp experience for over 800 children in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades each summer. Campers don’t even need to bring a toothbrush – everything is provided for a week of nature and nurture in the shores and woods of this unique setting.

Our participation with the camp continues to evolve as the needs of the camp evolve. Today, the women of the JLK participate in weekly camp carnivals, assist with 100 year anniversary celebrations (gala and BBQ), help with some specific funding requests (to rebuild the carnival stations, new laundry bags, and provide new all new PLC logo tee shirts) and help prepare the camp’s commissary for the summer season by cleaning, organizing or taking inventory.
