At the Junior League of Kalamazoo, we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s most pressing needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.
Our goal is to help the Greater Kalamazoo Area women develop civic leadership skills through the work they do, then put those talents to work in the communities that need it. Our current focus of the well-being of women and children gives women opportunities to grow, while positively impacting the communities where they live and work.

The Junior League of Kalamazoo offers so much more than local volunteering opportunities! Our League of leaders creates real change by advancing social activism-focused projects that directly benefit the communities of Kalamazoo. By giving women the tools to lead, educating them about their communities’ needs, and helping them put their unique brand of creativity and skill to work, The Junior League of Kalamazoo is making a big impact on Kalamazoo, Michigan.
We’re Transforming Kalamazoo Communities By Challenging the Status Quo
No matter what we’re currently focusing on, The Junior League of Kalamazoo work centers around improving our local communities through effective action and leadership. We have identified the wellbeing of women and children as the focus of our community work right now. Since 2018, we have volunteered over 500 direct service hours and granted more than $12,000 to community organizations working to help the well-being of women and children. In honor of our 40th Anniversary, we are granting up to $40,000 for our 2020-2021 league year! Grant applications are available now and will be accepted until Friday, February 12th at 5pm.
